Janet Weinstein, piano, was born and educated in New York City. She studied piano with Martha Pestalozzi and Zenon Fishbein at the Manhattan School of Music. After moving to California in 1970, she studied with Bernhard Abramowitsch. Ms. Weinstein earned a B.S. degree in mathematics from the City College of New York and a master’s degree in city and regional planning from UC Berkeley. For over 30 years she has taught privately in her Oakland studio. Presently, she plays in chamber music ensembles and performs locally. She is the mother of two professional musician sons, Aaron (violin) and David (cello) Requiro. They have performed as the Ivanhoe Trio at the Oakland Museum, for the Carmel Performing Arts Festival, and for the East Bay/San Francisco Symphony League.
Rebecca Tout d’Alessio, clarinet, teaches band at Lovonya DeJean Middle School and Kennedy High School in Richmond. Dr. d’Alessio earned her Bachelor of Music Education and Clarinet Performance at Bradley University before completing her graduate studies at Arizona State University (M.M., D.M.A.). Rebecca served as Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay from 2002-2006 before moving back to her home state of California. She has performed and presented master classes across the United States as well as in China and Turkey. Dr. d’Alessio has been featured in a series of concerts with Duo Camaraderie, a professional flute and piano chamber ensemble featuring a variety of guest artists, and regularly performs with the Golden Gate Band and The New Wind Collective. The Concert Artists Guild and the International Clarinet Association recognized Dr. d’Alessio with semi-finalist and finalist rankings in both institutions’ international competitions for her work in contemporary solo clarinet. She currently lives in San Rafael with her husband and son.

BMC 2019 Fundraiser
Honoring Susan Bates, Founder of the Young Chamber Musicians.
BMC’s 2019 Honoree is Susan Bates who was our keynote speaker at the BMC Annual Luncheon, held on October 13, 2019. Ms. Bates was introduced by longtime friend and colleague, Ben Simon, the Music Director of the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra. Our guest performer was the Arcturus Trio (Ajay Mallya, Kevin Yang and Catherine Choi), one of 7 chamber groups under the Youth Chamber Musician’s program.

Our December 10th Meeting was highlighted by our annual Holiday Bazaar where many of our members and supporters showcase their special creative skills while helping BMC to raise additional funds for our student music competitions. Beautiful crafts, delicious homemade delights and impressive art — what a great time was had by all!

BMC's annual luncheon and fundraiser was held on October 14, 2018 at the Elk's Lodge in San Mateo. Close to 80 guests enjoyed personal reflections from Dr. William Wellborn, this year’s honored guest, and a inspired (and fun!) performance by Nathan Chan.

2017 BMC Annual Luncheon
The Burlingame Music Club gathered on October 1, 2017 at the Burlingame Woman's Club for a delightful afternoon with members and friends. It was a wonderful start of the 2017-2018 BMC season.
